Hi all, just bumping this mail as I had a member ask if I had anything for sale.

The whole project was shelved through costs rising and other problems but I have 17 Sprocket Covers anodised and relief machined but not fully finished, the one in the photos has the logo polished (small job). I have 4 with the logo machined and the rest with the logo left anodised and the surface machined.

Price £170 + P&P

Cheers

Max

MT-01 / MT 01 speedometer mph to kmh
« Last post by andbar123 on June 27, 2023, 11:11:55 am »
Hi!
Can you please help me to solve the  problem with speedometer.
The thing is that after the maintenance where I disconnect the battery, the speedometer started to show wrong (lower) speed. The feeling is that it measures the speed in mph, although on  the display it shows km/h.
Has anyone had the same problem?
How can I switch the display from mph to kmh and back?
Thank you in advance!

Thanks Max

Unfortunately as you’ve commented the ÖHLINS forks are completely unobtainable now, easier to find rocking horse sh!t
After getting some positive feedback about Andreani products, I’ve taken the plunge & ordered a set of Andreani Misano Evo adjustable hydraulic cartridges for the MT01. The spring rate is matched to the rider, so I had to weigh myself (not a pleasant activity after far too many pies consumed in recent months 🥧), and order the springing for a fat basta*d which Andreani could offer  :D
I’ll let everyone know the results when they are fitted in the next few weeks

Sorry no one's come back to you on this. The only upgrade I've seen is Ohlins which were an original Yamaha upgrade but they're very much rocking horse sh!t these days!

MT-01 / Fork upgrade recommendation
« Last post by Guzzimax on June 06, 2023, 12:10:02 am »
I haven’t used my MT01 much during the past 18 months, but yesterday put it back on the road, and found after a 50 mile ride that I had a leaking fork oil seal. I noticed that the damping of the front suspension felt poor, with potholes & poor road surfaces feeling really harsh and underdamped.
After 18 years it’s clear that the forks & rear shock would benefit from a refurbishment, but instead of simply fitting new fork seals & fork oil, can anyone recommend a worthwhile suspension upgrade? What about Andreani adjustable cartridge kits? Any advice and thoughts would be welcome
Does anyone have any experience of this fork upgrade. Also what about fitting a progressive spring to the rear shock assembly?

Rob, I hope you are still enjoying your MT01
I’m a (not new) MT01 owner near Derby, but due to too many other 2 wheeled commitments mine hasn’t been used much over the past 2 years. I also have the Ventura rack

I started noticing a strong self-centring feeling when I turn the bars a bit at very low speed but I think it is probably due to tyres just about need replacing

If you mean the front end is rocking left to right at round 60 km/h if you let go of the handle bars, it is due to dynamic imbalance of the front wheel. Try moving the balancing weights from left to right or vice versa on the rim. Make sure they are in the original position along the rim circumference.
