Install Barnett spring set
« on: July 29, 2021, 04:10:30 pm »
Hi all,

Iam going to install a Barnett spring set.
I read somewhere on the internet that if i put my MT01 on the sidestand, i can remove de clutch cover without losing the oil.
My bike has a 195/55 tire, so it's already i little more tilted then standard.

Can anyone here confirm this? Other tips and trick are also welcome before i start, thanks in advance!

You can just lean it on something and the oil will not really want to run out too bad...! Its possible. I did like this the first couple of times...
I recently changed all the clutch friction plates in my Barnett kit, and drained the engine oil rather than faff about....No need to drain the oil tank. Then just refill.
Depends how lazy you are !

I re-used the original spring plate, the Barnett one seemed very flimsy and there was no real need to replace it.

I cheated with the gasket and re-used that too. That way I didn't have to disconnect the alternator wiring connector which seemed hard to access.
If the gasket doesn't break on disassembly you can degrease it and maybe put some sealant on it and you're ok.
