Reducing vibrations through handle bars
« on: »
Anybody got any tips on this?
After a prolonged ride I get numb hands.
I've already tried fitting spongy grips.
I have the standard bar end weights on.
Should these weights be added to or reduced?

Yeah but I'd like to be able to have a bit of feeling in my hands too  ;)

My problems were reduced when I fitted a Cramp Buster copy which allowed me to lessen my grip on the throttle conrtol. I had no problems with my left hand.
It worked a lot better than I expected and didn't cost a fortune. Takes some time to get used to, esp. when going slow, but over all it's an ok gadget.

Yes, exactly. Fits to the outer end of the bar, can be turned to your optimal position.
They are so cheap one can really afford to try them.

Yes, Grip Puppies helped a little bit for me too, but the Cramp Buster made a big difference.

Thanks all. I already have the grip puppies so those things definitely worth a shot.

Couple of things, keeping a loose grip on bars is both good habit and the way to minimize MT vibes.
I took bar weights off, think it actually makes the MT worse.
And the throttle body physical balance and subsequent mixture balance makes a much smoother bike if it is out.
To tell that you need to put vac gauges on and see how it looks.

Somebody else I know who suffers from this swears by
heated grips or heated gloves.
He says it completely eliminates numbness.
