moving the garbage....
« on: »
Today I replaced the battery, after 12 years it wouldnt keep a charge over night... Its done its duties, and lesson learned, a trickle charger sucks...
im not supposed to be riding, we have to ship-out, at some indeterminate time (lucky if we get 48hrs notice), so Ive got ti eon my hands...

As Im prone to do, I took everything apart under the seat....cleeeaaannnnn!!!!
And I worked my way up  to the tank, and and and...

so my Q's, has anybody moved the stuff under the covers on the sides of the MT?

on the left side, theres the gas puke (overflow) and vent tubes, with some kind of valve....
has anybody moved them?

havent got to the right side, I dont remeber whats there....
could it be tucked up under where the air box was/is?

cheers
alan

Hi Alan,

Yes the stuff can be removed from both sides. I housed the fuel stuff on the right under the tank in the side of the frame then filed the mounting bracket smooth and added a bit of mesh (see photo). I extended the tubes for the overflow bits on the left and mounted them below the crank case, you can see from the photo how I mounted the regulator (think it's a regulator anyway). I used steel tube to extend the overflow tubing so I could bend it to fit just as I wanted, see photo. everything's a bit grubby as I was half way through other mods :)
