hi mate,no there's nothing wrong with my isc its just the comment he made that got my curiosity ,like what did he notice different for him to say [I wish I had done this first instead of mucking around with a pc ],,was it sharper throttle response etc etc or what ? cheers
I dont recall that particular comment but I know the subject has come up before (they all have).
There is zero, none, zilch, gain in any way.
It simply keeps the idle steady. The usual reason for removing it is so that the owner can run the bike very slow at idle. Apparently this is a cool thing to do. Its bad for the engine, loading up the crankshaft in ways it shouldnt be loaded, it will harm bearings.
FYI the only adjustment that is ever needed to the throttle bodies is a physical balance of them. You take them off, not hard, and use a feeler gauge to ensure both butterflies are opening together. Dont touch the idle.

hello fellow mt owners just before the old forum closed, there was a post about removing the idle speed control valve where he said ,he wished he had done this mod first instead of mucking around with a power commander.what i would like to know is, what was the performance like after he did this mod .cheers
Ah, its good to be back. No, dont remove it, it does a great job. BUT if the screw thats sets how far it is open (what would normally be the idle screw) has been altered it will cause problems. Do you have any issues with it at the moment?

I can't imagine that you get more performance by removing the idle speed control valve. When you remove it, and it is cold, you must control the idle speed by yourself.
