Hello Graeme, good to see you here!
Why not the Stratoliner cylinders?
Cheers
Alan
Hi, thanks, you also.
I cant categorically say that they arent ok but you would have to buy a pair and check them out. In the case of warrior stuff, it carries the same casting id. That is "5px". Heads and barrels.
Patrick resleeve the warrior barrel for their biggest overbore and You might think that if the stratoliner were ok they would use them, but I really dont know.

I always love going through ebay and seeing the odd bits for sale there.
I dont remember why or how I started looking at the MT's cousins. Warrior, and Stratoliner.
Im wondering what the consensus would be on this; would the cylinders from the Stratoliner fit?
I remember the MT has "20%" more cooling than the Warrior. But could or would the cylinder (and maybe the heads) fit onto the MT bottom?
(then bore them out)might be time to buy some gaskets to find out....
cheers

Hi Alan, warrior heads / barrels fit but have to have a hole drilled and tapped for one of the top engine mounts. I bought heads off ebay usa and they were happy to ship them to Patrick who then did the valve and head work. 2mm bigger valves with hi lift springs, ti retainers and porting. Regardless of what size you end up with this headwork is needed. But it means you then also need the cam kit from patrick.
I happened to pick up a set of barrels already done to 1775 with head gaskets etc.
Stay away from stratoliner stuff except for the 43mm throttle bodies which can be modded to fit. and never xv1700. Think Warrior.
cheers Graeme

No idea whether that works.
But if you are really into upgrading the engine, there's a professional offer:
